We don’t often think of government agencies as nimble, but that adjective could be used to describe the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Pilot Program Solutions.
Pilot program solutions are the results of brainstorming in action. FEMA recognizes the need to evolve and keep up with changing circumstances and situations, so the pilot program fills that role. Ideas for how to improve procedures, processes, and outcomes are tested in the real world. Meticulous records are kept, compiled, and analyzed in order to improve the process going forward.
Hagerty has worked with FEMA officials on many pilot programs, including the expedited project closeout procedure developed during the 9/11 recovery, an alternative housing pilot program developed in the years after Hurricane Katrina, and the implementation of the Mississippi alternative housing pilot program.
