Dennis Gonzalez is a licensed Civil Engineer (PE) and program manager with a long-standing record of overseeing all phases of successful multi-billion-dollar disaster recovery, housing, infrastructure, economic development and construction projects for government and private sector clients. A strategic problem-solver, Dennis leads projects and programs towards profitable growth.
Prior to Hagerty, Dennis served as the Puerto Rico Department of Housing’s Deputy Secretary for Recovery where he designed and managed some of the largest disaster recovery programs in the Nation’s history. This experience included management of $1.3 billion in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Sheltering and Temporary Essential Power (STEP) program funding that was responsible for repairing more than 108,000 homes on-island following Hurricane Maria; as well as Puerto Rico’s $20.2 billion in Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program funding.
Other notable experience includes construction projects in residential, multi-family, public housing, commercial, hospitality, and sports facilities, totaling more than $1.5 billion in total project development costs. His experience is backed by strong credentials and a proven history of on-time, on-budget, and high-quality project completions.
In addition to his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez, Dennis holds a master’s degree in engineering management from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico as well as a Real Estate Broker License.Back To Our People
