The COVID-19 Pandemic…
The US has recorded that over 7.1 million people have been infected with COVID-19 ( an 18.3% increase in recorded cases from last month) while globally, over 1,000,000 have died from the virus.
Hurricane Season continues to break records as Greek Alphabet is used to name new Storms…
This Atlantic Hurricane season continues to break records as Tropical Storms and hurricanes are now being named by the Greek Alphabet. This is only the second time in recorded history that the Greek Alphabet has been used to name storms during a single hurricane season. At one time in September, there were five active systems in the Atlantic — one hurricane, one tropical storm, and three disturbances with the potential to become storms.
Fires in the West…
Throughout the month of September, fires have wreaked havoc on the western half of the United States. According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) , to-date, wildfires across the state have burned 3.75 million acres of land. Smoke from dozens of wildfires spread across California and the western US dispersed across the country and into Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
