Developing a Threat Response Guide
Project Overview
The Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) engaged Hagerty to develop a robust threat response guide aimed at enhancing its emergency response capabilities. This strategic collaboration focused on equipping CCDPH leadership with clear, actionable guidance for various public health emergencies.
Understanding the Mission
Our mission was to improve the CCDPH’s existing emergency plans, ensuring that leadership had a well-defined threat response guide to address various hazards. This initiative focused on reinforcing the Department’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively in the face of public health threats.
The Hagerty Advantage
Leveraging best practices from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH), Hagerty played a pivotal role in crafting three targeted public health threat response guides. These comprehensive guides were specifically designed to provide clear response frameworks for the following high-priority hazards:
- Aerosolized Anthrax Attack
- Novel Pandemic Influenza
- Inclement Weather Events
Achieving Results
This guidance became a key tool for the CCDPH Executive Group and staff. Our resources helped the team effectively prepare to mitigate the potential impacts of critical public health threats. Additionally, these guides facilitated training efforts, enhancing the department’s overall readiness and fostering a coordinated crisis response.
Ultimately, our efforts helped CCDPH build a more resilient public health system, better equipped for emergencies. Explore our Public Health and Healthcare publication to learn more about the innovative solutions we can provide your organization.
