On June 12, 2025, the New Jersey Emergency Management Association (NJEMA) will host its third annual Emergency Management Symposium in West Long Branch, New Jersey. This one-day event will bring together emergency management professionals and industry experts from across the region for a day of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

Mike Sprayberry is a seasoned emergency management leader with over 42 years of public service. Prior to joining Hagerty, he served in North Carolina’s Division of Emergency Management (NCDEM) for more than 15 years, including eight years as the Division’s Director. Mike led the state’s response to numerous disasters, including Hurricane Florence and the COVID-19 pandemic. A United States (U.S.) Marine Corps and Army National Guard veteran, he also served as President of the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), where he advocated for key federal reforms such as the Disaster Recovery Reform Act (DRRA) of 2018. His leadership has earned him numerous state and national honors in emergency management.
