The National Association for County Community and Economic Development (NACCED) will host its 50th Annual Educational Conference and Training in Mesa, Arizona, from September 8 to 11, 2025. This premier event brings together local government leaders and community development practitioners from across the country to exchange ideas and advance innovative solutions.
Attendees will explore practical strategies for affordable housing and community development initiatives, including funding programs such as the United States (US) Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Continuum of Care (CoC).
Established as an affiliate of the National Association of Counties (NACo), NACCED empowers local governments to strengthen capacity and foster resilient, sustainable communities.
Connect with Hagerty

On September 9, Hagerty’s Senior Advisor for Community Recovery, Stan Gimont, will co-present in the Opening General Session titled “Leadership in Times of Disaster.” This session will highlight how local governments can navigate the challenges of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
Drawing on more than three decades of experience, including 32 years of service with HUD, Stan will share practical insights for:
- Leading with confidence: Guiding teams through uncertainty during disaster situations.
- Building strong partnerships: Coordinating effectively across government, nonprofit, and private sectors.
- Strengthening community resilience: Helping communities mitigate risks and recover from crises.
- Maintaining public trust: Ensuring confidence and continuity of essential services.
We look forward to connecting with fellow practitioners, exchanging ideas, and exploring innovative solutions that build stronger, more resilient communities.
