Louisiana Emergency Management Conference

The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association (LEPA) will co-host the 2026 Fall Louisiana Emergency Management Conference (LEMC) from October 26 to 27, 2026, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The conference will bring together emergency management professionals and partners from across Louisiana for training, timely discussions, networking, and knowledge sharing to support preparedness and response efforts.

Throughout the two-day event, attendees will explore a range of emergency management topics, including:

  • Emergency and evacuation planning for long-term care facilities
  • Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and Louisiana Emergency Response Commission (LERC) coordination
  • Oil spill response and reporting
  • Best practices for debris monitoring
  • Emergency sheltering requirements, price gouging regulations, and related laws
  • Challenges and considerations surrounding unregulated care facilities

The conference will also provide opportunities to exchange best practices, discuss emerging challenges, and strengthen collaboration across Louisiana’s emergency management community.
