This year’s NC EMS Expo will take place in Greensboro, North Carolina, from May 5 to 7, 2025. Drawing from his experience as the former Director of North Carolina’s Division of Emergency Management (NCDEM), Mike will highlight lessons learned during major disaster responses.

Mike Sprayberry is a proven leader with a career in public service spanning over 42 years. Prior to joining Hagerty, Mike served as the Director of NCDEM. In this role, Mike led response and recovery efforts for more than 30 state- and federally-declared disasters, including Hurricane Florence. Additionally, his leadership helped North Carolina achieve the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Enhanced State Hazard Mitigation Plan status and national reaccreditation for its emergency management program. A former Marine and National Guard member, Mike has received numerous accolades for his contributions in public service.
