Describe what you do on a ‘typical’ day.

I work in the finance department so on a typical day I will primarily work on the New York Sandy project. I will review timesheets, expenses, invoices, audit hours, then enter all of this information into our budget software. I also deal with questions from NYC auditors, subcontractors, and independent contractors.  I also will manage any phone issues, computer problems, and ordering all of the supplies for the office.

How would you describe the culture at Hagerty?

The culture at Hagerty is a one of respect, camaraderie, and everyone having their voice or opinion heard. The work environment is happy, people are very easy to get along with, and everyone has a deep passion for the work they do.

What types of people do you suppose are a good fit to work at Hagerty?

People who are interested in making a difference, people who are inventive, think outside of the box, and want to help educate others on how to prepare for a disaster.

How have you changed personally or professionally since you started working at Hagerty?

I have definitely grown professionally. I know a lot more about finances, and I have learned about many different areas of work that I did not know of before. I have learned more about the emergency management industry and how Hagerty helps people before, during, and after disasters.

What effect has your work at Hagerty had on your future professional aspirations?

Prior to working at Hagerty I did not know a lot about the emergency management field. Now I have an interest in helping people become educated about all of the resources that are available to them in case of an emergency. How to plan for one and how to ensure that your family stays together, the supplies you should have in your home, etc. My friends laugh at me, but my emergency kit is ready!
