Hagerty’s Federal Grant Writing Assistance Featured in Yakima Valley Events

Accessing federal funding can help communities advance critical projects, but navigating the grant application process can be challenging for organizations with limited resources. Through the Federal Funds Grant Writing Assistance Program (FFGWAP), the Washington State Department of Commerce (Commerce), in partnership with Hagerty, helps eligible organizations overcome these barriers and pursue funding opportunities that support local priorities.

In a recent feature, Yakima Valley Events highlighted a free, Spanish-language federal grant writing workshop held on October 19 in Yakima, Washington. The workshop was delivered in collaboration with South Central Workforce and hosted by the Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of Washington.

During the session, Hagerty team members shared guidance to help participants understand federal funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and navigate grant requirements. Spanish-language materials and live interpretation helped ensure participants could engage with the training and apply what they learned.

“Language should never be a barrier to accessing information or opportunities.”

Hagerty’s Role in Expanding Federal Grant Access

Hagerty partnered with the Commerce to develop and implement FFGWAP, a statewide program that expands access to federal funding and grant writing assistance for organizations across Washington. The program prioritizes clean energy, climate, and resilience projects, as well as organizations serving rural and overburdened communities.

To date, the team has supported 140 federal grant applications, secured $30.5 million in awards, and delivered 22 workshops statewide. Through technical assistance, grant-writing support, and community outreach, Hagerty helps eligible organizations navigate the federal grant process and pursue funding for projects that strengthen local infrastructure, expand economic opportunities, and build long-term resilience.
