As hurricane season looms, Biden doubles funding to prepare for extreme weather
On Monday, May 24, the Biden Administration announced that they’ll be seeking to increase the amount of pre-disaster mitigation funding available to communities nationwide via FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program.
BRIC is a competitive, pre-disaster mitigation grant program designed to strengthen our nation’s infrastructure, and make our communities more resilient against the impacts of disasters, through high impact, large scale, public-private, and sustainable projects.
Today, Hagerty’s Executive Chairman and former FEMA Administrator, Brock Long, who strongly advocated for greater investments in pre-disaster mitigation during his tenure, discussed the Administration’s announcement with The Washington Post.
